This is Nick’s last summer before going to University and whilst he is so excited for it, Charlie is secretly worried that he is being left behind. Which is such a real thing that couples go through at this age. My favourite character was Charlie Spring and I didn’t have a least favourite. I recommend this book because it’s real, it’s relatable, it shows that these two lovable characters have flaws and they’re still lovable. And I might have fangirled a bit over Nick Nelson applying for university in the same city as me. ‘I used to think I was pathetic for thinking soppy, romantic stuff like that. I don’t anymore. I just keep thinking it. I keep wanting him here. I keep wanting him to stay.’ Refreshing and natural love story which every teenager currently in a relationship will identify with, irrespective of gender or sexuality.
